For a preview, our school is currently doing our self-survey for an international accreditation. The person whom I have spoken with is a visitor from our book jobber and she happens to do a lot of consultancy for most of the school here. Hi Ma'am Lourdes, I do agree with you about the cutter's number. I was thinking if I do only the first 3 letter of surname, how can we differentiate the books with different authors who has the same surname. With regards to the textbooks, yes its a 1 copy per student policy and library is, sad to say, storage of these materials, so I was really surprised when she mentioned that. Another thing is, I dont want to put the txtbks in the library record if its only for accreditation purpose, it might give us more trouble in the long run. About the software, our school is planning to have a free school-wide information software where the library's circulation will be included, on the otherhand Im also considering to change our software to Follet. Our adm is telling me to just get the software(which I haven't seen or tried) that they are planning to install for our school. On e-books, can I embed the links on our website and have it downloaded for free or should I ask our IT to have it accessed by using password? I dont mind at this time if anyone can access it but eventually when we expand I dont think the school would be happy to just give it away for free especially if we pay for it. I believe it would be beneficial for the group especially for the newly grads if we will discuss the real deal more though I heard from many librarians that this group has been a great help for most of the members. Even other nationalities learn too just by reading the posts.
