My take on it is still "parepareho tayong indyan, kanya-kanyang pana."
Yeah, board exams have a way of giving you an instant dose of humble pie. add: * I studied at night, mas tahimik. * This may not work for everyone, I ALWAYS have to have bg music or visuals (eg TV or radio in the bg). OR go the opposite, no distractions. * Maybe record yourself, save to mp3, playback on your ipods instead of Katy Perry, Paramore, Kanye West etc. (I'll let you finish, but Beyonce has the best video of ALL TIME!!!) all the time. OR have some background music while you're recording, para hindi naman puro boses maririnig mo. BG music might add to the recall (Ay, ano nga ba bg music nung rinereview ko yung indexing? Ah, Sandwich...). Heck, music is life.... ^_^ * Rewrite or retype everything. The slow, repetitive, physical aspect of the process may burn facts more into your noggin. Think of it as mental and physical xerox. * I also did the length-wise bond paper-thingie, btw. Maybe index cards too? :D Kung saan ka sanay. * Mnemonics. * HUE! Highlight, Underline and Encircle. (I also saw people who colortabbed and folderized their stuff. Minsan ka lang magpapa-ka-OC, siguro ito na yung pagkakataong yun.) * Xerox (or in high-fallutin parlance, "Resource Sharing with co-exam takers") is your friend. * Go individual or group study. Maybe "Go individual AND group study" might be more appropriate, you can't know everything. Ask each other questions. * If studying at night till early morn, 24-hr Starbucks, McDo, Jolibee or Wendy's et al yourself. See all those law students who study there every midnight for lessons / recitations they'll have the next day? Coffee + food + airconditioning + comfortable chairs = awryt! :D * They also take those memory booster tablets (glutaphos and memo plus gold). Dunno if they really work, though. * Cobra and Lipovitan always worked for me. * I took two days off before the exams. Some took the whole week off. (Hey, kung kakarir-in nyo na, e di karir-in nyo na, tutal karir naman pinag-uusapan. Ahehehehehe. Did I make sense? O_o;;) * I remember I stopped reading the night before since wala ng pumapasok sa utak ko. I rested, slept early, quickly reviewed my notes before the exam. * Based on the above, ^^^ sorta-cramming worked for me. * I had my old school's St. Benedict medallion in my pocket the whole exam. * DON'T, I repeat, DON'T do what I stupidly did. Tried to force myself to memorize by blackening out stuff with pentel pen after I memorized it... Dumb, I know. I forgot after a day or two and had no way of recovering what I blackened out. Had to re-xerox. * Make sure you treat yourself after... You're zombies the day you start and will still be zombies the time you exit the testing center on the last day. My batch had different ways of "making bawi"... Isa dyan food trip. Yung iba uminom agad pagkatapos. Iba natulog the whole day next day. Iba nag Star City yata yun pagkagaling sa testing center, masakit na nga ulo nagpakahilo pa. Iba adik, bumalik agad trabaho. Peace of mind daw. Mwehehehe. Whatever works... * Hug your parents before you take the exam and after everything is finished. If not applicable, hug your significant other or your kid (not someone else's, baka makulong ka pa). If still not applicable, hug your dog or your friends. If you have to cry before or after they won't laugh at you (the dog will have a questioning look, though). * Actually I'd suggest that you do what you did in college during the finals, midterms and prelims. Proven, tried and true. Just take it to a whole new level... Booyah!!! Arf! Arf! ^_^ igor On Fri, Sep 25, 2009 at 10:51 AM, Andy <[email protected]> wrote: > > > How I passed > the board exam 13th place > > > Taking a board exam is like giving birth.
