PAARL standard requires a library budget of between 5-10% of the total operating budget of the institution. Below is the entire provision:
3.1 The college/university librarian shall prepare an annual budget, which should be between 5 to 10 % of the total operating budget of the institution. In the process, he shall identify and prioritize all library needs and apportion expected revenues according to these needs and priorities. He shall justify the library budget and upon approval, administer this in accordance with the fiscal policies and procedures of the institution. Check PAASCU standard, because I believe it requires a library budget of at least 6% of the total operating budget of the institution.
