VLIR-UOS awards scholarships to students from developing countries so that
they can follow a training programme in Belgium. These scholarships cover
all related expenses. Every year, VLIR-UOS awards up to 70 scholarships to
training participants. In short training programmes, lasting one to four
months, the focus is on transferring skills rather than knowledge, thus
creating opportunities for cooperation and networking.
For 2011, there are two training programs that might interest our
colleagues:

   Katholieke Universiteit Leuven

   This intensive training course addresses educational support staff that
   enhances their skills and competences in the proper use of new educational
   technologies and the production and integration of interactive learning
   materials into education and training.
   - l...@web – Management of Electronic Information and Digital

   Universiteit Antwerpen

   This intensive training course addresses all aspects involved in running
   and managing modern libraries with web-technology for library automation,
   digital libraries and electronic information resources. Emphasis is given to
   free open-source software and affordable electronic information resources
   and locally produced digital libraries.

Only the training programmes listed at the website are eligible for funding.
