Subject: U.S. National Library of Medicine, medical publishers offering no-cost
access to journals, ebooks, databases following Typhoon Yolanda
To: "Love, Cindy (NIH/NLM) [E]" <[email protected]>

Dear Colleagues,

Please accept our condolences for the many losses sustained in the Philippines
following Typhoon Yolanda. This is a very difficult time, I’m sure, and we do
hope that the days ahead will be easier for those in the affected areas and the
many people outside the affected areas who are offering their assistance.

I’m writing to let you know that several publishers and the US National Library
of Medicine are offering selected medical journals, electronic medical books
and databases at no cost to people in the Philippines who have a
Philippine-based IP or computer address. These materials will be available for
at least a month and we urge you to take advantage of these resources, as
needed, to support and improve medical response and to supplement your
library’s services. Many of these resources are usually only available by
subscription but are now offered at no cost by publishers interested in
supporting recovery efforts in the Philippines.

I have listed the resources below and ask that you please share them widely
with those who may benefit from this access. Please let me know if you have any
questions or comments about these resources. Thank you, -Cindy Love, U.S.
National Library of Medicine
