One of the four teachers participating in the 2014 Reading Challenge has turned in her book review. The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery I had heard about this book quite a bit in the past, so I was quite happy to have pulled it out of my book "can" before the long weekend. |

Griffins, I am happy to announce that there are 20 entries to last month's Book Spine Poetry Contest. We will now move to the judging stage of the contest. We hope to announce winners by the week of Feb. 17, 2014. The Book Spine Poetry Contest for the month of February opens on February 10, 2014. Start reading the shelves for ideas. ![]() Savor the Word (Anvil, 2012) has been getting good reading raves from our library patrons. It contains essays on food and culture in the Philippines. These essays won in the Doreen Gamboa Fernandez Food Writing Contest. The essays are written in English but the tastes and sensibilities are very Filipino. Borrow the book now from your friendy library staff. |
