The word "safe" means many things to many people.  I would never use
that term in reference to any radioactive isotope.  Although it is true
Polonium 210 has minimal penetration, it should not be used without
reasonable caution.  Also, make sure to keep it away from children and
pets who might chew on it or inject it.  The issue of "safe" disposal of
these and other radioactive isotope products is still in debate.
