I have an LS-30, not a 2000, but I use the Analog Gain with negatives and it works very well. I will see big differences with even a +/- 0.3, so you should definitely see something with big numbers. There is a button in the main part of the NikonScan dialog that says "Apply A Gain". Is it possible that after setting the analog gain value you are turning that button off before scanning? regards, Jo Ann
