I disagree. They don't have to re-home for each pass. Once home as ascertained, and then the starting place of the scan is known, the stepper can reposition it self back there ad-infinitum. There should be no positioning errors. The home switch is just to get a relative sense of where the mechanism is, it does not have to be accurate.
