I've had this problem with about 30% of the images I scan with the 8000. Most of the problem images are unmounted single-frame 120 transparencies. For these the glass holder does work rather well, with no negative impact on the images that I can see. The glass holder is rather expensive though, and really, it's something that should be shipped in the 8000 box.
