Thanks everybody. It turns out that Lacie's aren't as expensive as I though so I'm going to look at one of those. NEC is also now made by Mitsubishi so I'll be looking at those as well.
I had a Sony a few years ago that died very prematurely and just out of the warranty. Sony refused to do anything worthwhile so I'm not a big fan of them. Paul Wilson
