I had a bitch of a time installing my Nikon 8000 on a Windows 2000
Professional single user machine. You MUST log on as Administrator. I have
administrator privileges (single user machine) as default user, but it did
not work when I used my own login. You have to log off, log on as
Administrator, install the Nikon 8000 software and update the registry
(automagically) and then voila! the sucker works.

I made darn sure not to put a password on the 'Administrator' account so I
could log on again if necessary.

Any one know what happens if I try to install the firewire 8000 with Windows
XP Professional? I am still using W2000 Professional out of driver conflict
anxiety.

Anybody know how to make the doggone tools palette stay open?
