I've modified 7.4.3 so you can save raw scan files either at scan time or at save time (also at preview time). I've also modified VueScan so you can scan from the preview. For instance, you can preview an image, adjust the cropping and press the Save button to save to a disk file. If you change to the Scan tab (without pressing the Scan button), you'll get an image from the preview, just as if you had pressed the Scan button. This will help some scanners a lot, especially the PhotoSmart, since it will only require one time scanning the film (no need to scan once for preview and another time for the scan). I'll release it in a day or two.
