Yes, I could probably figure out how to produce different forms
of partially-cooked <smile> raw files.  It's way, way down on my
priority list right now though.

I now have 7.5 mostly working with multiple previews (and scans) kept
in memory, with the ability to switch between them.  There's an option
in the Prefs tab that controls how much memory can be used for
previews and how much for scans (50 MBytes default for each).  At
least one preview and one scan can be kept in memory, assuming
there's enough virtual memory (or physical memory on Mac OS 8/9).

I'll release this in the next day or so.
