There are a number of people with the 2200 in hand. They exist (even on the west coast of Canada where I am (but are still special order)). You have hit the often created distribution brick wall, which occurs early in the launch of a product that ended up very popular and in demand.
Not knowing the exact demand, companies hold back on production in the beginning, as it is better to have people hunger for a product (that has no competition for people to run to) than to flood the channel and end up with a dud that requires price slashing. Further, I suspect Epson is making sure "everything" is to their liking so that they have minimal returns and don't need to redesign, or if they do, they can do so before many thousands of units get distributed. So, if you must have one, bribe a store into providing you with the next/first one they get in. ;-) Art Stuart Bowling wrote: > I traded up from a Nikon LS-30 to a Nikon Coolscan 4000 ED.
