May I use this newsgroup to ask advice over a scanner purchase. I want a scanner which I use for scanning old postcards (1900-1920's), and 35 mm colour slides. I use an Epson Perfection 1650. For slides, you really need a dedicated film scanner, or as Paul suggested, having them done commercially. People who use 3200 dpi scanners to scan 6x7 and larger film are usually quite happy, but people with 645 and smaller film usually find that they aren't quite good enough. David J.
