You get that symbol with just alt-226? Not alt-0226? Curious. Does your system automatically prefix the number with a zero? (Thanks for that list, by the way. from which I can easily determine that circumflex-a is entered (in Windows) as "Alt-226". Another place to find these characters is in the symbol table that is part of windows, at " start > programs > accessories > system tools > character map ". I assume a similar character map is part of Mas-OS someplace, but I couldn't tell you how to find it....
