I do
this all the time on a HP LaserJet 5000 and it works beautifully. Here's
exactly what I do: using the Postscript driver version of the printer, set paper
to 11x17 in landscape mode. In Finale set parts format to Letter (NOT
11x17) and select 2-up in Finale print dialog box (NOT in printer dialog
box). If you set the parts format to 11x17 and print 2-up, the printer
will scale 2 11x17 pages to one 11x17 page, giving you pages 1/4 the proper
size. Presumably you would leave the score format at 11x17 (I usually
print scores at 11x14, since that size is easier to handle and bind, fits in
briefcases, etc.).

I am using WinFin 2001d with an HP 1220C large format Printer in an 11 X 17 mode. I am networked to this printer through my wife's computer (She uses this printer for AutoCad). I have set the page and score formats to this printer in 11 X 17. I've made sure the printer is specified when I click print and that "2-up" is specified. I part extract and click print. When I look at the print preview window for the printer, the first page is in the upper left corner [about 1/4 of the page filled with the entire first page], and the second page is in the upper right corner of the paper. In other words, it looks like it is reduced by about 25%. And this is exactly what I get.
If I Put the score in page view and then click "Print Parts", it shows only the top half of the parts in the preview. One consolation though, the preview does show the music in full scale.
I've checked the "manual" and gotten no help. Any help from the group would be appreciated.Rick & Kathy Neiman
