Title: [Finale] Re: Best way to input this music?
You're right, the Speedy Entry method is much better. I was trying originally to use the Simple Entry method, but that has a LOT of snags in it.

They claim that they improved it, but it's (IMHO) just as awkward as the original method. What they need is a way to input recurrent patterns of rhythms, since those are found very often in music. Then it's a simple matter to fix the pitches that do not repeat.

Anyway, thanks to those who responded.

Tammy

Dear Tammy,

If you have several of these quarter-note triplets in a row, here's the best way to enter them:

1. Select Speedy Entry
2. Engage the Caps Lock Key
3. Press Option+3 (Ctrl+3 in Windows)
4. Press 5 on the numerical keypad (a 5 shows in the entry box)
5. Play on your MIDI keyboard all the triplets that are in a row. If there are any rests in the triplets, just play a cluster of any three consecutive half steps on the keyboard. Finale will then put in a rest.
