yeah, in the end i had the publisher print the logo to pdf and send the pdf to me, then copy-pasted the image in their pdf into the pdf of the score and title pages i generated. all seems fine via this method. i wonder if the initial tif could have been altered through their or my email programme: some mailers have the option to compress outgoing docs.Although I'm using PC, I did try to replicate this.
