The best way to do this is _not_ to use the extra measure with invisible staff style. Instead, use Page Layout tool with "Avoid Margin Collisions" turned off. You can now have two short systems on the same line, with as much (or as little) space between them as you desire:

- Lock the first coda bar (or the first two bars, or whatever you need) in a system of its own. The bars are now too long, but you'll change that.
- In Page Layout tool, remove the check mark by "Avoid Margin Collisions" in the Page Layout menu.
- Make the two systems shorter by moving (respectively) their right and left margins.
- Drag the system where the coda begins up to the same level as the other system.

That's all. No need to add the brackets, key signature, etc.: they're already there.

Hello list,

the situation: standard pop music arrangement for two violins with a D.S. al
Coda.

the problem: if you have the first coda bar together with the last bars
before the D.S. in one
system, one has to insert an extra measure with invisible staffstyle
selected. so far no problem.

due to standards in music publications for these special coda situation you
will also have to add brackets, key signatures and clefs in the first coda
bar.
How can this be done the most easily?

I know how to do it in Finale (2003 PC by the way) but my way seems to be
really complicated with at least 10 different steps and clicks, including
adding another measure and optimizing to have a group bracket shown...

Do i miss an easy feature in Finale, or is it really that complicated?
Anyone knowing an easy way? Good idea for a plugin?

Thanks
Jörg
