Ah! You need to UUENCODE the file.
Get the little program uucd.

After making the Quark file do the following:
1- make sure the file name has the Quark extension suffix
2- in ZipIt click Add, navigate to the file, click Add and Done
3- under the Method menu, select Store
4- under File menu, select Save, and quit ZipIt
5- put a uucd alias on the desktop
6- drag the newly created Zip file onto the alias
7- click Save All
8- add a random number to the file name (this guarantees you won't overwrite
the Zip file) and click save
9- quit uucd
10- remove the number from the new file's name/ retitle the file if you want
11- do NOT compress the file when emailing- you compressed it already in
2-4.

BTW, this defeats many ISP's mangling of .sit files, especially
crossplatform to FinWin in AOL.........

The thing is my publisher has the font installed !
Indeed he's running Finale on his computer. We even tried doing a test
file on his computer (the same way I did it on my computer) and it
worked fine.

It seems the problem comes when I sent him my files to his computer.
For an unknown reason, the font is not recognized anymore whereas it is
when we do all the files on his computer.

Moreover, as I said, it opens correctly on Photoshop or Illustrator. It
doesn't work only on X-Press. This drives me crazy !!!
