I have just lashed out and purchased a Yamaha AW4416 dedicated hard drive audio workstation [plus quality studio mikes, monitors etc] which has all of these capabilities - including phantom power for inputs 1 and 2. I have only just begun to experiment with recording and stereo mix downs, but the early results are very promising. Yamaha's budget AW16G version of this unit may be ideal for most purposes described in these discussions. See http://www.aw4416.com/e/index.html
