I was wondering if anyone knew of any sites (or could just plain tell me) the rules for doubling in five-voice texture. All through two years of harmony classes in university, I never really got taught how to write in more than four voices, but I tend to write string section accompaniments with independent bass parts (ie: not doubling the 'cello an octave lower) and would like to know the norms.
