Can anybody help me with this? The "piano reduction" referred to is actually a piano-vocal reduction from a chorus-and-orchestra score made with Sibelius. In the original score, each mvt. is a separate file. For printing purposes, it is essential that the reduced score be a single file. Lorenzo Sorbo (quoted below) currently has separate files for each mvt. of the reduction, w. different vocal forces (and therefore different numbers of staves) in the various mvts. I asked him to add as many staves as necessary so that all files would have the same number of staves, then join them all and optimize out the empty staves wherever required. He now tells me Sibelius can't do this! Can anybody advise a workaround?

Lorenzo and I have been working on this project for 2 years, but I am getting more and more frustrated and am just about ready to throw up my hands.

Hi Andrew,

I tried to put the piano reduction in a single .sib file but I failed. As you suggested I increased the number of staves to match with the score to be appended, but I didn't count a problem. When a score has ,i.e. 6 staves and the next one 3, I can't delete the staves to match the layout. I know this is a Sibelius limit, but can you also try on your PC ? Tell me if I can send you the separate parts.
Please let me know

yours,
Lorenzo
