If the intervals are a third or wider, simply align the noteheads.

It is only when the interval of a second or a unison occurs that note alignment is an issue.

Usually then, you align the stem-up note on the rhythmic location and put the stem down note to the right, aligning the stems.

In a piano staff, I have on left hand one voice and on right hand 2
