I get this all the time when I change platforms.  Just keep hitting the yes button.  
It will create a file called MacSymbolFonts.txt, that will sit in the folder.  Your 
file will look as it should in Finale.  
I imagine if you said no to the pop-up window, then your notes would not look like 
notes, but strange text symbols.  
I have never said no so I don't really know. :)
It only needs to create the file one time, and then the Finale file will open up just 
fine without the annoying pop-up.

Just say Yes.

If you want something more scientific, I can't help you.
