That would be easy if it were all in key signatures, but the non-tonal sections
should have no signature in the saxophone rather than looking like D Major. I
can't figure out how to transpose some sections with signature and some sections
without, and still have the midi come out right.

Daniel - Can't you simply hide the D Major key sig using the box in the Staff
Attributes DB and use the * key in Simple Entry to display the # accidentals on
all the C's & F's that would normally be hidden?.  All the other non-scale notes
will have accidentals anyway, and playback will be unaffected.

If that doesn't work, you can always use an expression to transpose the playback
without affecting the position of the notes.  Create the expression, click on
playback options and in the drop down list choose Transposition.  I think you'll
need a value of -1 but I haven't checked that.

r the sax player will want the music transposed, even if there's no key
signature - he will play a written C and it will sound Bb.  If you have entered
the notes
