Each Finale version seems to have a new, evil reincarnation of an old bug: placement of expressions that is correct for a staff at 100% reduction, but becomes increasingly displaced with increasing reduction. The latest version is in the Note Positioning tab of the Shape Expression Designer. If Vertical Click Position is selected in the Vertical half of this box, problems occur unless the staff size is 100%. Reduce the staff size to 90% and click placement with a metatool puts the expression an inch or so below the notehead rather than at the click position.
