I'm working on my first cross-staff beaming, using Finale 2003a for
Windows, and something surprising is up. I've got all the notes on the
upper piano staff, selected the Note Mover Tool with Cross Staff checked, and
clicked on a bar needing this work, which creates boxes over the notes.
Sometimes the notes do drag down to the next staff as the help manual says it
will, and everything else works fine after that with the beams. Sometimes
there just is no response to my attempts at dragging the selected notes - that
is, clicking with the crosshairs over a blackened box. It seems like I'm
doing the same thing when it does work or doesn't work, so I don't know if
there's a mistake I'm sometimes making, or if this is a bug? Is there a
non-mouse alternative?
