Finale listfolk,
I've had a few instances where the music required a non-metered section (with or without
barline deliniations) where the musicians would play out of time. Getting around the
meter issues isn't difficult, but coming up with a satisfactory symbol to use instead of
a traditional time signature is.
I considered substituting whatever I came up with for the common time symbol, but since
it won't let me use other fonts (I'm still using MACFIN 2002 for 2 more weeks...) except
for the default Time Signature font I've already chosen, I've resigned myself to using
measure expressions instead. But my main problem is what symbol, regardless of font,
should I use? Any and all comments would be appreciated.
Also, if anyone is doing a fair amount of extended technique work (graphic notation,
etc.)on Finale, any ideas on useful fonts and such would be great. I'm always looking for
more (I'm already looking forward to working on a Shenkerian Analysis book project later
this year...should be fun.)

Dear Rob,
I've used what looks like a sine wave as the time signature for unmetered sections. I include a note to define it just in case.
