so, in order to do any work, according to the tech expert at coda, i need a Roland UM2 interface, the only one that will work with the mac in classic mode - i've found a few on line, but did find a UM1 at a Sam Ash store here in LA - the coda technician says only the UM2 works, as it uses free midi, the UM1 uses MOTU, not compatible with classic mode -

which doesn't sound quite right, and even the salesperson at the Sam Ash here says the software is identical - he's certain the UM1 would work if the UM2 would, the only difference being, obviously, the number of midi connections possible...

i'd much prefer to run over to the store and pick up the interface today, which would save time and some money as well - so has anyone had any direct experience with this?  does the UM1 work, or do i have to order the UM2 -

My Roland UM-1 works fine with FinMac2k2 and 2k3 in System 9.2. It also works pretty well in System 10.2.4 in Classic Mode. I'm using OMS.
