[Finale] two Finale questions

In a lead sheet I'm doing, I'd like to put a coda right after the last chorus, with just blank space between the chorus and the coda, a la Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind."  (The coda would be at the same vertical level as the chorus, ostensibly to save paper.)  Also, can anyone tell me how to get a word extender to appear under a note at the beginning of the second ending that is tied from a note in a measure just before the first ending?
