I use a clean system folder for Classic for a number of reasons. Classic gave me nothing but trouble until I did this. It was excellent advice from (I believe) Darcy.
I use several extension in OS9 that either don't work in Classic (like MacPortrait) or aren't needed (like MasterJuggler).
