G'day I'm looking for help on teaching composition to beginners. In our conservatorium we have many students who play an instrument or sing, and very few who compose. Those who do compose, do not usually write down their compositions. I would like to encourage students [mainly upper primary and high school age] to compose and to notate their compositions.
Your own tips, as well as advice on books, web sites, etc that may assist is very welcome.
