Shouldn't word extensions only apply to moving notes and not to tied ones?
It seems as if the word extension plugins (both Finale's and TGTools) on FinMac 2k3 are spotty and inconsistent AND they give me a lot of lines on tied notes where I don't want them.
What does the list think? Shouldn't this at least be an option?
Well, I'll be darned. The people have spoken and say that word extensions apply to tied notes as well as to melismas. So I went to the source (Ted Ross, Art of Music Engraving, pg. 183) and sure enough, Ross calls them melisma lines and extension lines.
As I wipe the egg off my face, I should state for the record that I am NOT an engraver, I just play one on the internet sometimes...
And the plug-ins DO give inconsistent results.
Thanks for helping. And cancel that order for a new option.
