Thanks to Harold Owen for pointing out this very useful script. If you want to create a piano accompaniment and still leave the choral parts unchanged, you need to edit the script. Either remove the part after "optional" where it deletes staves 1-4, or put two slashes in front of those lines, making them non-executed 'comment' lines.

Dear folks,

Those who do a lot of work with choral music may be interested to know that Finale provides a script that will make a piano reduction from SATB that gives soprano and tenor with stems up and alto and bass with stems down - unlike the Piano Reduction plug-in. You'll find it in the plug-ins under New Plug-ins for Finale 2004/FinaleScript. In the dialog box scroll down to "SATB to Piano" and press the PLAY button.
