My guess is that the problem is because of the landscape printing. If you're printing 8 1/2 x 11 images two up on 8 1/2 x 11 paper, the width of each one is 5 1/2 inches, or a reduction of about 65 percent; 65 percent of 11 inches is about 7 inches.
If it were me, I'd resize the pages in your file to 65 percent, arrange the systems the way you want them on 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 pages, and then print two up.
