To add to my previous plea for help, maybe I should add that I am using a Midisport 2x2.
I have installed the latest driver but no difference.
Really desperate !!

Sometimes you have to unplug and re-plug the USB cable and logout (or restart, in extreme cases) to get the MIDI working again.
