I'm beaming 16, 32rest, 32, 16, 32rest, 32 all together. I would like the
8th and 16th beams to extend the full length, across all the rests. (To do
that I select 'extend secondary beams over rests' in the document
options). I would like the 32nd beam to extend to the left of the stem a
short distance, but not all the way to the 32rest. No matter what settings
I change in the Document Options->Beams the 32nd note beam either goes to
the right of the stem or it extends all the way over the previous 32rest.
I'd like the 32nd note beam to look like the picture of the beams shown in
the document options->beams page. (None of the special tools make any
difference no matter the document option settings and no other document
options seem to apply). In looking through various piano music for an
example, they all seem to do it the way I want to do it, and the way I've
always seen it, so it seems to be a standard way to do it (see Dvorak
Humoreske). Oh, Patterson beams don't do anything either. Ideas?
