Sure, it *could* be, David, but right now it isn't. For example, RealPlayer for Windows installs spyware as part of its installation. RealPlayer for Mac doesn't.


Obviously, that situation could change at any time, but for the moment there's nothing for Chuck to worry about as there are no confirmed cases of spyware or other malware for Macintosh.

Cookies are a different situation entirely, but there are already lots of good tools for dealing with that. Safari can be set to automatically refuse all third-party cookies -- in fact, I think that's the default setting.
