Hi Dennis,

The Mac version opens older files as untitled by default, and AFAIK there is no way to turn that off. However, when you go to "Save As," the old name will (normally) show up in the prompt.

The FinaleScript *did* work on the score, back when it was just called "Az Der Rebe Elimelekh". (The spaces didn't seem to be a problem.)

Can you give me an idea what kinds of characters you've found to cause problems in filenames? You mentioned the space, and I've already encountered the problems with periods other than the one in ".mus" and em dashes. Any other tips?

Is there -- somewhere -- a list of characters that you can't use in your filenames if you want FinaleScript to work? Because this is absolutely insanely eye-gougingly head-on-desk-bangingly frustrating.
I can't even begin to convert the fonts until I get all the old documents updated to Fin2005, and I can't get all the old documents updated if it's going to prompt me for every single filename. Gah.

I don't know if this has any bearing on the conversion, but do you have the "open older files as untitled" box ticked in your program options (if you have such on option on the Mac)? If so, perhaps unticking it might help.
