Others have thrashed out the pros and cons w. admirable thoroughness. I would simply add that here at Kallisti Music Press, combined wind parts are absolutely verboten.


I don't think it's coincidental that the countries where such parts are commonplace (France is not the only one) are also notorious for bad engraving and flimsy, acid-laden paper.
