I had no problem at all doing this. I would add this bit of advice, which I've 
found invaluable. 

When you click on something, hold it for 3 or 4 seconds before you release to 
ensure that QK has caught up with you. 

When you type, type slowly. 

Set QK recording prefs to use recording hints. When the hint shows you know you 
have a "lock" on a target, it doesn't always show, but it does give you a very 
good idea of the speed of QK's analysis of what you are doing with the 
interface.

I don't defend their (obviously) poor documentation, but I think the app is 
great.

If I had more time I'd try and be a bit more helpful but it's got to 4-30am and 
I'm guitar tabbed out for the night :)
