It's a joke -- there was no offer of a tee-shirt for earlybirds who ordered the upgrade before a certain date. I don't think there was one with Fin2005, either, but I may be misremembering.
For many years MakeMusic included a free tee-shirt. My daughter used them for sleep shirts.
