There are some things about Finale 2006 that are much faster than
2005. Screen redraws are much better now.
But there are a few areas that have slowed down to an annoying
degree. Using a macro to change the time signature is one of those
things that are very slow. I thought it wasn't even working when I
tried it the first 50 times.
The trick is to hold down the number key (which has an assigned time
signature macro) for at least 2 seconds after clicking the measure in
question. 2 seconds of waiting and then, woosh, the measure is
changed. If you change time signatures a lot as I do, this wait can
be a real productivity drain and is just plain confusing for any user.
