Hi Hiro,
Yes, Gary does seem to be a very cool guy. I am getting to know him
and the guys that work with him and find them to be working hard to
make things that are useful and practical and not too expensive. I
am glad to have some association with the GPO Jazz Library and am
eager to get a copy, so I can get a little closer to a good sketch
sound with my scores.
Gary called from NY yesterday where he had recorded ambient sound at
the Village Vanguard for the jazz library. He was grateful for the
opportunity to do that, and I think that indicates a pretty good
level of care about getting as close to the sounds we are used to
hearing as he can.
Sometimes a few of the little guys get something good accomplished.
