Owain's most brilliant answer is they way to go in my opinion as
far as changing the note heads to Chord Sym!~ (that's a new one

Thanks - but I picked that idea up myself on this same list some
time ago, when dealing with the same stem-connection problem, so I
really should take no credit for it!
