Robert
You're not alone; I had this *precise* problem back in January and
asked for help on the list, but no-one replied. Here's the original
posting, in case anyone can shed any light... [this on FinMac2004b/OS
X 10.3.7]
"I've been using Ronald Catalbiano's 'Ghent' font successfully since
1998, mainly for occasional articulations and percussion notation.
It's a TrueType suitcase. Yesterday I went to print a file which uses
some glyphs from this font (as articulations) and while the glyphs
were visible in Font Book and in Finale's articulation selection (but
not articulation designer) dialogue boxes, they showed up on the
screen merely as placeholder glyphs and didn't print. After some
tests, I found that most of the glyphs in this font *do* print
normally, however.
Then I noticed in the Finale Help that ATSUI has now been adopted and
I suspect that this, with Ghent's CMAP "inaccuracies", is the cause
of the problem (it's no coincidence that the glyphs in question show
green in Pop Char X 2.2.1, for those of you who know this handy
utility.)
The particular glyph I'm most needing is Unicode 61441/MacRoman 222,
in case this helps.
Does the adoption by Finale of ATSUI now mean that this font and
others like it are now unusable...?"
Cheers
Jim
I used to have a font called Ghent Percussion, but I can't seem to
get it to work in OSX. It is TrueType only, and I can no longer
recall what the ramification of that are w/ respect to OSX. I did
ominously note that the developer's last date on it was 2001.
The main thing I have ever used it for is a loop symbol that can be
repeated to show a rubbing motion on a drum head. If Ghent-Perc is
no long available, does anyone have any other ideas?
