Sorry about this off-topic post, but there are more Mac geeks on this
list than I know otherwise:
I am away from home, using a phone connection with the internal iBook
modem. It works, but there is absolutely no sound when connecting,
although the appropriate option is selected in the modem panel, and the
Mac's sound is turned up and otherwise working.
I know I had sound in Panther. It's not that problematic at the moment,
since I know the line and number works, but when I am away and using a
hotel telephone connection it's always useful to have that connecting
sound. Anyone? Off-list, if you like.
